Job Description:
- Maintains a safe, clean, care-giving environment, practices good personal hygiene and hand washing, and assures the wellbeing and safety of all of the children in that environment.
- Maintains a positive, calm attitude and a pleasant, soothing voice, and models this attitude and voice for parents and others working or volunteering in the program.
- Maintains a cooperative attitude of working together with other I/T teachers, the center director, family coordinator, Executive Director, and parents.
- Provides for the physical safety of each child from arrival time until departure time.
- Partner with parents to develop educational and family goals and update regularly.
- Provide direct supervision, training, guidance, leadership, and technical assistance to assigned infant/toddler assistant teachers. Conduct periodic observations to evaluate job performance of assigned staff, maintain appropriate documentation, and meet timelines set by the HR department.
- Assist with transition into the program and exiting out of the program.
- Participate in regularly scheduled case conferencing sessions, staff meetings, parent meetings, parent-caregiver conferences, Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) meetings, home visits, in-service training, and other meetings as directed.
- Attends all training opportunities and staff meetings as provided and scheduled.
- Other tasks as deemed necessary by the Director.
Physical Abilities:
Ability to lift infants/toddlers weighing up to 35 lbs. Ability to sit on the floor, bend at the waist, kneel and/or stoop up to 75% of the time. Ability to see at normal distance. Hear normal conversations and sounds. Use hands and fingers to fill our required forms and paperwork. Ability to perform life-saving CPR and first aid.
Job Requirements
Infant & Toddler Caregivers
- Infant Caregivers must have minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Child Development Associates certification preferred.
